Backyard Theater SF

Welcome!

We are Backyard Theater SF. We've been putting on delightfully unprofessional musical theater productions in San Francisco since 2016. We are an entirely volunteer-based organization, and proceeds from our shows go to local charities.

Our Next Show: November 6-7, 2026

Backyard Theater SF presents... Lord of the Rings!

Backyard Theater SF is returning this fall with another beloved classic done seriously and exactly like the original.

Join us at The New Farm SF!

For this show, we will be performing in Hunter’s Point at the New Farm -- a community space very similar to the Faight in whimsy (and slight grunge) quotient. We're excited to reconnect with our backyard roots in the New Farm's indoor-outdoor space!

Those who fear the icy winds of Caradhras may wish to bring cloaks and blankets. Those with cars will want them! Those without may want to consider carpooling! There is plenty of parking.
